Energy ministers of the Group of Seven(G7) nations have rejected Moscow’s demand to pay for Russian gas in rubles.
Germany, which chairs the G7, says Russia’s demand is a “unilateral and clear breach of existing contracts.”
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov responded on Monday, “No payment, no gas.” He said Russia has not yet decided how to respond if European countries refuse to pay in rubles.
