EU RESOLVES IMPASSE OVER EMBARGO ON RUSSIAN OIL IMPORTS

European Union leaders have agreed to cut 90 percent of the oil imports from Russia by the end of this year, resolving an impasse over the bloc’s toughest sanction on Moscow since its military operation began.

The oil embargo would include exemptions for Hungary, which relies heavily on Russian oil and had been the main obstacle to a deal, as well as other states concerned about the economic impact.
