The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has fired eight short-range ballistic missiles off its east coast, the Republic of Korea’s (ROK) Yonhap news agency reported on Sunday, citing the ROK military.

The launch came after nuclear envoys from the U.S., ROK and Japan held a meeting in Seoul on June 3.

Japan’s Kyodo news agency, citing a government source, also said the DPRK launched multiple missiles and the projectiles landed outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ).
